What a privilege it’s been for Tim Agnello, our Missions Engagement Director, to help our folks grow in their understanding of the 10/40 Window and Unreached People Groups (UPGs), and to help us learn that over 80% of our Alliance workforce is engaging the lost and least in the most difficult and dangerous places on planet earth! What an adventure it’s been and continues to be!
In light of all this, recently he’s been asking, “How can the CPD excel even more in our engagement with Alliance Missions?”
The answer came swiftly, “Tim, you need to multiply yourself!”
It’s amazing how quickly God will answer our prayers when they are lined up with His will of reaching a lost world!
So, we’d like you to meet the DMT. If you receive phone calls, emails or texts from any of these folks (presented below), feel free to welcome them as you would Tim. We are so thankful for these men and women who have a heart for missions and who are willing to help me bring the CPD to higher heights of engagement with Alliance Missions!
Douglas Thieu English Assistant Pastor
I’m a by-product of missions as my Grandparents came to know Christ through the efforts of C&MA missionaries many years ago. I’m extremely proud of our rich missions heritage in the Alliance and excited to be a part of the DMT and I hope to be able to encourage others to get more involved with missions since “ALL of Jesus for ALL the World takes ALL of US.”
Kathy Uyehara Missions Director
Aloha! Some years ago God took a relatively new believer who had declared she would never go on a missions trip, removed her fears, broke her heart for the lost in other nations, and created in her a passion to partner with Alliance Workers and nationals to share the name and love of Jesus AND to encourage others to GO! I’m excited to be a part of DMT because I want to encourage our churches in their partnership with God on His mission of love and mercy to those who have not yet heard.
Karla Tovar Administrative Assistant
Hello! I am the administrative assistant of the CPD Superintendent, Ray Van Gilst. I am also a Board Member of Aposento Alto, a Hispanic Church of the CPD. I am passionate about our CPD Alliance Missions as it is a blessing to be part of a team that truly works together to reach every last group on earth.
Rodney Poepping Lead Pastor
I have been connected with Missions since coming to Christ in a C&MA church many years ago. I have seen how partnerships with the field help them and energize the church to fulfill the mission Jesus gave us. I love seeing people find a passion and a love for people through cross-cultural experiences and I am excited to help other churches any way I can.
John D. Wiseman Assistant Pastor/Missions Pastor
I have been deeply involved in Alliance Missions as a pastor for over 45 years. It brings me great joy to help others see the needs of the world for Jesus and help them hear God’s call on their lives to get involved. I am excited to be part of the CPD DMT to continue to see God’s Kingdom expanding as every nation and tongue is brought the Gospel and then discipled to be reproducing followers of Christ.
Many churches have gone on Vision Trips and started Global Partnerships. Some church leaders are in the process of packing their bags even now, as they will be flying the friendly skies with me this Fall on various Vision Trips. Many churches have grown their Missions Sunday event into a full weekend or meaningful multi-day Missions events. Some churches have increased their giving significantly, some are even strategizing with their leadership teams as we speak as to how to increase giving, and there has been a swell of interest in learning about what the Alliance is doing around the world.
