WHO WE ARE
About the Central Pacific District
MISSION & VISION
You became a pastor because you want to change the world for Christ.
You want to see lives changed, people living fully into who they are created to be,
and fulfill your calling to extend the Kingdom of God in your region and the world.
IN THIS PROFOUND CALLING
Your job is to support, minister to and encourage your congregation. Our job is to support, minister to and encourage you! …and we do this together as an Acts 1:8 family.
Our Vision is twofold: to assist and support our churches and leaders to fulfill their own vision while working together to fulfill our common Matthew 28 vision as C&MA churches for both local and global impact.
Our Mission is to facilitate belonging, engagement, and teamwork among our churches and their leaders to create true synergy, because we can do more for the cause of Christ together than we can alone.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
All over the world, the Alliance family is celebrating Jesus. He is the one true hope for humanity in this life and for all eternity.
Jesus – Our Savior
The cross reminds us of His sacrificial death and resurrection as atonement for the sins of humankind (Acts 4:12).
Jesus – Our Sanctifier
The laver represents the daily cleansing from sin by the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 1:30).
Jesus – Our Healer
The pitcher represents oil to anoint the sick for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing (James 5:15).
Jesus – Our Coming King
The crown represents our blessed hope in Christ’s imminent return (Acts 1:11).
The four parts of the C&MA logo represent the four keys of our christ-centered statement of faith.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Shanon came to the U.S. for his college education. After graduation, he worked in the financial industry as a certified public accountant and a controller for 19 years. After being called to full-time ministry, he served as a local church pastor for over 11 years. He joined the CPD team in 2020 to assist the district superintendent. Shanon and his wife, Jade, have two adult children.
To be honest, I never really wanted to be a pastor. I grew up in the church and once High School hit, I did anything and everything possible to avoid fake plastic Christianity. And then I met Jesus. As a 22-year old college student wrapping up my senior year at Simpson University, I began the journey to follow Jesus with my whole life. A few years later, that journey led me to plant a church.
In January 2007, my college sweetheart wife, Erica, and I felt God’s leading to plant the Stirring, a young and growing church in Redding, CA. I love Jesus, family, sushi, film and revival. I am dreaming with God for an awakening not only in today’s church but also in families, cities, and generations. A creative visionary, I integrate my love of music and film with our passion for shaping disciples who will shape the world. I enjoy life with our four children – Ava, Adiah, Asher, and Alicia. And of course, our big brown dog Jackson.
Edgar was born in El Salvador, Central America. On October 1, 1993, he received Jesus as his Savior. In 1994, he became a youth pastor for Casa del Alfareo in Downtown Los Angeles. October 16, 2004, he married Bertha N Martinez and they have two children: Nahbi and Adara. In January 2005, he became a pastor of Casa de Dios Church. Beginning in March of 2016 he received the call to work as Hispanic Coordinator for The Central Pacific District. In 2020, Edgar was appointed to lead the CPD in the area of Church Advancement.
Karla joined the CPD family in October of 2018 and graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2017 with a B.A. in International Relations & Spanish. Every day she has the great privilege of observing people from all over the world grow in their faith for our Lord, Jesus. She is committed to making a difference by showing and sharing the love of Christ to the ends of the earth and is so grateful to be part of a great team!
I am passionate about our CPD Alliance Missions as it is a blessing to be part of a team that truly works together to reach every last group on earth.
Janet was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and moved to Canada at the age of 4. She grew up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Janet was a Registered Nurse until just before her first child was born. She stayed home to raise her children and it was when they were in middle school that Janet started working on a part-time basis doing administrative work for a faith-based homeless shelter. This began her journey of serving in a variety of administrative positions including the Canadian Bible Society and the Eastern PA District of the C&MA.
Currently, Janet is the Office Manager in a church in Pennsylvania, where she enjoys using her administrative gifts to encourage the ministries of the church. Janet is married to Wayne Spriggs, the District Superintendent.
Brenda is also a part-time district staff member. She serves as bookkeeper for the district office as well as Neighborhood Church of Redding. She has the unenviable job of making sure we color inside the lines financially. She is in the office one day a week and has rebuilt our entire financial system.
